Luke Anthony Johnson is an English rock musician, drummer and songwriter. Luke began his music career in the late 1990s drumming for a spree of small local UK West Midlands- punk and rock bands. In early 2003 Luke was approached by California punk band Amen, to fill the boots left by Shannon Larkin who moved on to join the band God Smack. After his departure from Amen in 2005, Luke formed Beat Union as drummer and songwriter along with some of his longtime friends. Beat Union later signed to Warner Brothers in the USA and released their debut record “Disconnected”. After Beat union disbanded Luke joined the Welsh alternative rock band Lostprophets replacing Ilan Rubin in early 2009 until their sudden disbanding in 2013. Six months later Luke and the remaining members of Lostprophets formed No Devotion with Geoff Rickley of the band Thursday. They went on to win the Kerrang! Magazine Album of the year in 2016.

Luke has also been involved in other musical projects, including working alongside Producer John Feldmann (Blink 182, 5SOS, The Used, Kelly Clarkson) and has performed session work for a variety of bands, including Foxy Shazam, The Blitz Kids, Itch and The Wonder Stuff.

In 2016 Luke started the band Lowlives with Lee Downer (the former frontman of the Defiled). Lowlives released their debut EP Burn Forever in August 2018. The band later went on to release their first full-length album, Freaking Out, on May 31, 2024 on Spinefarm Universal. The bands single ‘Loser’ topped out at #7 in the German Rock radio charts finishing between The Rolling Stones and Green Day.

In 2013 Luke was honored in his local town by being featured in a bus stop billboard campaign honoring local artists and talent. Given that the legendary John Bonham of Led Zeppelin was also born and raised in Redditch, they were featured next to each other on the billboards.

Luke now resides in Arizona with his family where he has put down roots and built a studio.
