Diddle Rudiment Review!
28-03-2024
Hi everyone. Welcome to lesson 4 of the 'Rudiment Series'.
In this lesson, we will conclude our look at the 'Diddle' rudiments and I've created some backing tracks for you all to play along with.
You will need to be comfortable playing all 4 rudiments and the corresponding grooves.
If you're not sure what they are, go and watch the previous 3 videos. If you do know what they are and just need a quick reminder, the rudiments are as follows and next to them are the corresponding groove.
Single Paradiddle - 8th note groove
Double Paradiddle - Triplet feel
Triple Paradiddle - 16th note groove
Paradiddle-diddle - Half time shuffle
The backing tracks last approximately 1 minute each and I would really encourage you to grab your sticks and play along.

*EXTRA LESSON*
By the way... in the introduction clip, I played 3 of the 'Diddle' rudiments joined together. The sticking I play is as follows..
RLRR LRLL RLRR LRLL (Paradiddles)
RLRLRR (Double Paradiddle) LRLLRR (Paradiddle-diddle)
LRLL (Paradiddle).
*END OF EXTRA LESSON*
Lesson 5 will be taking a look at double stroke rolls and some permutations.
Best of luck everyone and see you on the next lesson
